Our Projects

Mind in Manchester aims, according to our Constitution, to "promote the preservation of mental health and to relieve or assist in the relief of people with mental health problems, in particular those who live or work within the City of Manchester and its environs". We encourage people with an interest in mental health to become members of Mind in Manchester and to join in the work of the organisation. An Executive Committee elected from the membership makes decisions about Mind in Manchester's policies and future development.

We are very keen for people with an interest in mental health to support our work by becoming members. Members can influence the work of the organisation and help with ideas or suggestions. They also have voting rights at our Annual General Meetings. Many members become volunteers, helping with our work in different ways. Without our members we would not be able to continue our work. If you would like to become a member, please contact us. If you would like to become a volunteer on a specific project, contact the project directly.

Inreach Project

The Inreach Project works in Manchester's mental health day centres to enable people using the centre to get support and guidance from a trained volunteer who can help them progress towards social inclusion.

The pocket size Mind Mental Health Guide 2008 is available soon. It is your essential guide to mental health services and organisations in Manchester, together with self-help information.

These are some of our former projects that are no longer running, but have proved to be a useful learning experience that inspired subsequent work.
