Example Activities

Here are some examples of what people on the project are doing.

Andy and Joe

Andy and Joe were initially doing leisure activities together. This included cinema visits and long walks. Andy is now accompanying Joe to a computer class in word processing at Chorlton Workshop, which provides free adult education classes to people receiving benefits.

Phil

Phil has started a computer course at MERC with the support of the Project Development Worker.

George

George, a new participant of the project has started a self-assertion course at the Creative Living Centre an Internet course at MERC and has started working on the information service. He has also expressed an interest in getting involved in C.A.T.S, Citizens as Trainers

The relevant computer software and hardware has been purchased so as to allow the two participants of the project to jointly design publicity information for the organisation.

Andy and Mike

Andy and Mike have taken part in a one-day course at CVO, Roles and Responsibilities of Management Committees.

Jane

Jane was previously developing telephone and training skills. She will now also be developing her research skills by providing information on specific topics for the information service.
