Mind in Manchester Board Members Mind in Manchester is part of the Mind network of independent organisations working 'for better mental health' through campaigning and service provision. We are a small developmental organisation with charitable aims, currently employing two members of staff. Our current work includes our long-running Information Service, providing information on services and groups by telephone and through our Internet site, also the Inreach Project, that aims to apply the principles of mentoring to support clients of mental health day centres to access activities and opportunities within the community. We wish to recruit new members to our trustee Board of Directors. We are seeking individuals that can help us develop new services and become sustainable as an organisation. Prospective Board members would need to be able to demonstrate a commitment to promoting Mind in Manchester’s vision, ethics and values, particularly with respect to tackling discrimination and prejudice in relation to mental health, also to offer some of the skills and abilities required for managing a small or medium sized organisation, such as change management, balancing priorities, strategic planning, recruiting and managing staff, financial management or of implementing policies, procedures and quality standards. We can provide training and support to suitable individuals. We are keen to achieve a more diverse Board and we welcome applications from all sections of the community. We aim for a 50% representation of people who are current or former mental health service users. We will refund out of pocket expenses and provide an induction into our work.
